FOLLOW UP – HOW ABOUT THE NEWBORN TWINS?
They are doing great! Sharmila and her twins were released from Gamgadhi hospital yesterday. I am very happy for them. Sharmila and her husband Ram Bahadur Shahi are both beaming with joy. According to the doctors the babies are healthy. However, because of their low birth weight (2500 and 1600 grams), further outpatient examinations are advisable.
From Gamgadhi its not far to our first Birth Centre in Loharbada.
Here, our senior midwife, Janaki, takes care of the mother and her twins. Besides postnatal care she will also educate Sharmila about preventive health and hygiene and teach her how to make nutritious cereal porridge for the babies in the future.
It's good to see how our Birth Centres work hand in hand. Instead of the Gamtha, the small family will now be looked after in the Loharbada Birth Centre until further notice.
