THE CHANCES ARE BAD FOR GIRLS
In Nepal, schooling is an unaffordable financial burden for poor families. Usually only boys go to school, since girls traditionally have a weak social status. Even in childhood, girls have to work and are often being married at early age: Almost half of the 15- to 19-years old girls are already married and have children. Many are not even 14 years old when they marry – some are even only eight.
